Fellers is the trusted leader in deliveringspeed, service, andselectionto our customers. This is backed by a national network of warehouses, stocked with industry leading brands and a competitive proprietary branded product offering. Additionally, Fellers has a dedicated sales team which is supported by best-in-class customer service and technical support professionals to deliver superior service.

About The Role:

The Supply Chain Director owns end-to-end supply chain performance across Fellers’ distribution network, including inventory controls, demand and supply planning, supplier/vendor management, and logistics. This role builds and leads a best-in-class inventory management program — owning in-stock rates, turns, inventory value, shrinkage, and stocking strategy — while driving supplier OTD, quality, and PPV performance and developing new supplier relationships. The Director leads the Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Logistics team, builds the right team structure and talent, and implements lean systems and culture (5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, and related methods) across the organization. This role also leads Fellers’ SIOP process, engaging cross-functional partners to drive strong decision quality and executive alignment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Build, implement, and manage a comprehensive inventory controls program that drives strict inventory metrics, ensures tracking and accountability, and minimizes loss, theft, and write-downs.
  • Own inventory turns, inventory value, and shrinkage metrics; manage and direct inventory placement across the network.
  • Create and implement one standard operating playbook for inventory management and supply chain; train and deploy it across the business.
  • Lead the inventory reduction and warehouse consolidation effort across entities to achieve cost savings, OTD improvement, and network stability.
  • Own the annual budget for purchases and inventory; report key metrics and data to APG, the CEO, and the ELT.
  • Establish and execute the stocking strategy across the distribution network, achieving targeted in-stock rates by SKU classification (A/B/C).
  • Partner with the VP of Operations, CFO, and CEO to establish and maintain Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) targets.
  • Implement industry best practices in supplier/vendor management; drive benchmark fulfillment, flow, and inventory utilization results.
  • Own and drive positive vendor relationships and working standards between Fellers and key vendors while controlling costs.
  • Engage vendors with OTD, Quality, and PPV scorecards; recommend and drive improvement and optimization as needed.
  • Conceptualize, research, and implement new products and new supplier relationships in partnership with Product Management.
  • Oversee the Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Logistics team; build the right team structure, align talent to key functions, and change or acquire talent where needed.
  • Build a data-driven, results-oriented team with standard goals and KPIs; implement lean systems and culture (5S, SQDIP, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Kanban) that engage employees and vendors in continuous improvement.
  • Implement and lead an effective SIOP process, driving strong process adherence, decision quality, constraint visibility, and executive engagement.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven experience leading both demand planning and supply planning functions, ideally within a multi-warehouse distribution environment.
  • Supply chain and vendor knowledge and experience across an international footprint.
  • Strong commitment to and understanding of Lean and Six Sigma; deep knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, Lean, and DMAIC is required.
  • SIOP leadership and expertise is a requirement.
  • Significant experience and track record in commitment to leadership, employee, and supplier development.
  • Demonstrated success building, restructuring, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Clear, credible communicator who can articulate a vision and direction, and act as a proactive, value-added member of the broader Operations leadership team.
  • Strong sense of accountability and a results-driven, action-biased approach to achieving outcomes.
  • Good judgment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable operating through ambiguity and acting decisively on partial information.
  • Ability to balance supplier relationship development with cost control and rationalization needs.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization, from the warehouse floor to the board room.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability and willingness to develop and operationalize strategy; a collaborative, low-ego leadership approach.
  • Keen interest in and familiarity with technical and supply chain systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, inventory management, or demand/supply planning leadership roles.
  • Experience operating within a multi-location distribution or warehouse network, including network consolidation, strongly preferred.
  • Experience across an international supply base or vendor footprint.
  • Demonstrated track record leading a formal SIOP/S&OP process and applying Lean/Six Sigma methods (Kaizen, DMAIC) in a continuous improvement environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily office-based role requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use, with regular time spent on the warehouse floor.
  • Domestic and potential international travel (approximately 20%) to warehouse, vendor, and supplier locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in virtual meeting environments, across all levels of the organization.
