Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in a large multi-site durable goods environment with materials, warehousing and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to facilitate cross-functional dialog at all levels.
  • Proficient in Excel/Word and working knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Experience leading teams in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine procurement and distribution strategy.
  • Achieve ITO objectives and oversee SCM performance metrics with partners.
  • Improve inventory control accuracy and reduce perpetual adjustments.
  • Implement operational plans for material storage and working capital targets.
  • Oversee purchasing and drive annualized cost reduction in line with partnerships.
  • Plan material needs for time and efficiency, improving value streams.
  • Support production systems teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Adhere to Quality and Safety policies while driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop talent across multiple sites and functions.
  • Foster partnerships with Sales, Finance, Product Development and vendors.

Job description

The Director will help craft the future direction of the company's supply chain structure. The Director will lead a high-turn, high service operations crossed multiple facilities. He/she will focus on ensuring high-quality service deployment of equipment in line with best-in-class practices so the organization can more effectively manage service issues, achieve KPIs, improve customer retention and satisfaction, and implement process improvement strategies. The incumbent is expected to focus on process improvement and value stream initiatives, system upgrades, talent development, inventory management and capital utilization.

The Director must come into the organization with proven experience creating, transforming, or improving a supply chain organization in a highly matrixed and labor-intensive environment. With responsibility for the overall leadership and management of the organization's Supply Chain Operations, the incumbent is responsible for leading and inspiring a diverse workforce and their management teams. He/she should exemplify professionalism, approachability, leadership and must have a strong business acumen. These traits are necessary to inspire and develop the team to adopt a culture of accountability, responsibility, pride and enthusiasm, and also aid in developing collaborative partnerships with the Sales Channels, Executive Leadership, Finance, Product Development and third-party vendors.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine the best strategy for procurement, distribution, and management of raw materials based on present and future material availability.
  • Responsible for achieving ITO objectives.
  • Establish supply chain key metrics to drive performance with partners; recommend and implement changes as needed to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Responsible for improving Inventory Control accuracy by reducing adjustments to the perpetual inventory in a quantifiable manner.
  • Implementation of an operational improvement plan managing material storage.
  • Implement a strategic plan to support working capital and inventory turnover targets at best-in class levels.
  • Oversee Purchasing functions; implement improvement plans to achieve annualized cost reduction targets in line with efforts to establish LCC partnerships.
  • Material Planning with respect to time and efficiency improvements; initiate a collaborative effort to achieve business metrics by improving pitch route efficiency and an improved value stream.
  • Supports and participates in the organizations production systems team.
  • Adheres to Quality Policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
  • Adheres to Safety Policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain or similar with at least 7 years work experience in a similar capacity with a large, multi-site durable goods manufacturing organization and robust background in materials, warehousing and inventory management.
