Job summary

Cardinal Health in the United States is seeking a Data Scientist, Operations Research Analyst to join our Decision Science Solutions (DS2) team. Our mission is to improve the pharmaceutical supply chain’s performance to better serve our pharmacy customers.

You will forecast demand, build optimization and simulation models, and communicate actionable insights to cross‑functional partners. Strong SQL, Python, and OR software experience is preferred; travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
• MS/MBA with focus in Data Science, OR, Industrial Engineering, or Statistics preferred.
• Experience applying DS/OR to logistics and supply chain problems preferred.
• Experience with SQL and databases preferred.
• Experience with Python, R, SAS, Tableau preferred.
• Experience with Network Design, Simulation (AnyLogic), or CPLEX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Listen to clients and clearly define business problems.
• Forecast future demand and build optimization and simulation models.
• Develop predictive and segmentation models for supply chain.
• Build capacity and policy optimization models to improve performance.
• Develop prescriptive models using 3rd party software and custom models.
• Summarize financial and operational impact of recommendations.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to create data models.
