Textron Systems in Kentucky is seeking a proactive Supply Chain Buyer to source materials, study market trends and coordinate with suppliers to secure quality components at best total cost. You will monitor orders, expedite deliveries, analyze quotations and support compliance documentation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in procurement or supply chain, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong MS Excel and communication skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials from suppliers at the lowest cost while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Study market trends, interview vendors and recommend sources of supply.
• Solicit and analyze quotations to satisfy requirements.
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries and expedite as needed.
• Negotiate adjustments from price analyses, discrepancies, or cancellations.
• Obtain delivery certifications and validate item delivery; assist with invoice payments.
• Develop and maintain records for compliance and support proposal cost data.
• Preferred candidate will know weld processes and mechanical/custom fabrication.

About This Role

• Purchase materials from supplies at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need
• Study market trends, interview vendors and recommends sources of supply
• Solicit and analyze quotations required to satisfy all the requirements of the authorizing source documentation
• Monitor outstanding orders to ensure timely deliveries of quality products to maintain production, following up on orders to expedite shipment and delivery as needed
• Negotiate for any adjustments resulting from price analysis, discrepant materials, surplus or obsolete materials, contract terminations or a purchase order cancellation
• Obtain certifications of delivery and conduct item delivery validation. Check and improve payment of invoices
• Develop and maintain necessary records and files for compliance purposes. Support preparation of proposal cost data
• Preferred candidate will be knowledgeable in weld process, mechanical and custom fab.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is $71,400 - $107,000 per year.
