Job summary

BleachTech LLC in Petersburg, VA is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to oversee procurement, supplier relationships, inventory, demand planning, warehousing, and transportation for Virginia and Ohio operations.

The ideal candidate will blend strategic thinking with hands-on execution, drive cost reductions, manage budgets, and mentor warehousing teams while ensuring timely, cost-effective supply to meet production and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or a related field.
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience with RFP/RFQ processes, tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement, strategic sourcing, material planning, inventory management, and supply chain activities across Virginia and Ohio operations.
• Support Maintenance and Operations with inventory control, maintenance-related materials, chemical usage planning, and raw material forecasting.
• Analyze supply chain processes and identify opportunities to reduce costs and lead times, improve efficiency, and optimize material flow.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery, competitive pricing, quality, and service.
• Lead or support RFP, RFQ, tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection activities.
• Monitor supplier pricing and raw material cost increases and support appropriate customer pricing adjustments.
• Maintain accurate vendor, pricing, purchasing, and inventory information within ERP and procurement systems.
• Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual supply chain reports and performance metrics.
• Identify supply chain issues, communicate risks and recommendations to leadership, and implement solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and stores personnel, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Oversee supplier evaluations and performance management to minimize supply chain risk.
• Manage inventory and stock count processes to maintain accurate inventory records and support financial reporting.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation with carriers and third-party logistics providers.
• Oversee warehousing and distribution activities, including receiving, shipping, storage, and space utilization.
• Manage import/export documentation and support compliance with applicable customs and freight requirements.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with Production and Customer Service to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Monitor carrier performance and resolve transportation issues including delays, damages, and claims.
• Evaluate and select transportation and logistics providers based on cost, reliability, and service.
• Perform other duties as required to support effective business operations.

About the Role

BLEACHTECH is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to lead procurement, supplier relationships, inventory management, demand planning, warehousing, and transportation activities supporting our Virginia and Ohio operations.

This position plays a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of raw materials and finished goods while supporting production requirements, customer demand, and overall business objectives.

• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar operational environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with purchasing, supplier management, inventory, and supply chain operations.
• Experience with RFP/RFQ processes, tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make data‑driven decisions.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems.

Preferred

• 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
• Experience with QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
• Experience with accounts payable/accounts receivable.
• Professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or CIPS.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Experience managing import/export and transportation activities.
• Results Orientation - Focuses on measurable improvements in cost, service, inventory, efficiency, and operational performance.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to travel between company locations and other business‑related destinations, approximately 25% of the time.
