Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented analytics and supply chain professional in Beachwood, OH to coordinate department processes, monitor performance and troubleshoot issues. You will support inventory control, transportation, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with suppliers, carriers and internal teams to meet deadlines and optimize material flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year of inventory/auditing/transportation experience preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of transportation, supply chain and logistics.
• Ability to learn and operate various inventory and transportation management systems.
• Ability to follow processes and procedures.
• Data analysis skills required.
• Strong problem solving and time management skills.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and multi task required.
• Experience analyzing large sets of data preferred.
• Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all processes and functions of a department and provide visibility to management by tracking, process oversight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant and ensure conformance to company standards; track and trace, schedule analysis, and exception management; ensure optimal material flow.
• Assist in development and presentation of customer analytics, key trends, and solution proposals; contribute to continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.
• Work with customers to resolve stock shortages, meet deadlines and answer questions; improve customer inventory and material flow processes; communicate critical issues to manager and customer.
• Examine current processes and implement improvements to drive out waste; follow Engineering-set processes and assist with process and transportation design changes.
• Work with suppliers to correct part/shipment issues; track shipments to meet deadlines; collaborate with carriers to resolve issues in transit or at customer facility.
• Participate in other projects as assigned by the Manager.
