Marathon Petroleum Corporation invites motivated undergraduates to join as an intern in Commercial Sourcing Advisor, Supply Chain Associate, or Business Analyst roles in Findlay, OH and additional locations including LA. You will gain hands-on exposure to procurement, contracts, and data analysis while supporting cross-functional teams.

As part of MPC, you’ll develop an understanding of category management, supplier diversity, and logistics, while working on real projects that drive efficiency

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a purchasing, supply chain, or logistics field.
• Strong academic performance expected.
• Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of MPC’s policies related to procurement, contracts and materials management.
• Understand MPC’s category management, contract management and supplier diversity processes.
• Become familiar with materials, equipment, and services procured for MPC’s operations.
• Assist in purchasing indirect goods and services.
• Engage in cross-functional category management activities.
• Gain an understanding of market and spend analysis.
• Prepare and analyze bid packages.
• Negotiate contractual terms and commercial issues.
• Complete projects related to inventory control, transportation, and logistics.
• Develop knowledge of MPC’s supply chain systems.
• Identify, visualize and analyze data to obtain business insights.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Finance, Supply Chain and IT for system improvements.
• Support leading Supply Chain practices and continuous process improvement initiatives.
