Job summary

HD Supply seeks a Supply Chain Analyst to facilitate the flow of materials through the supply chain, developing new tools and processes to support goals and objectives. The role includes creating metrics and monthly supplier scorecards, and partnering with management to improve supplier collaboration and supply chain performance.

The position focuses on identifying problems through analysis and delivering sustainable solutions for supply chain strategies, with 75%+ travel as required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting warehouse design/build, network optimization, or distribution center transformation projects.
• Proficiency in SQL and advanced data analysis for analytics and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with WMS platforms (SAP WM / SAP EWM) and data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau).

Responsibilities

• Develops new forecasting, order replenishment, and logistics channel decision processes.
• Analyzes supply chain practices and develops strategies in support of supply chain business case development.
• Partners with stakeholders and leadership to improve supply chain performance and collaboration with suppliers, delivering monthly supplier updates.
• Supports central replenishment activities, including meeting with vendors to collaborate forecasting and replenishment strategies.
• Creates supply chain metrics, identifies methods for evaluating supply chain metrics, and audits supply chain data.
• Partners with merchants to plan for promotions, price changes, and exit strategies.
• Develops decision support tools and financial models to analyze cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting warehouse design/build, network optimization, or distribution center transformation projects
• SQL skills: Intermediate - advanced (complex queries, joins, subqueries, etc)
• Experience with slotting optimization, inventory control, and replenishment planning
• Hands-on experience with WMS platforms , preferably SAP WM or SAP EWM
• Proficiency in Power BI and/or Tableau for data visualization and reporting
• Strong data analytics and data-driven problem-solving capabilities
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% as required by project needs

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Develops new forecasting, order replenishment, and logistics channel decision processes.
• Analyzes and gathers supply chain best practices and develops strategies in support of supply chain business case development. Conducts day-to-day business analyses in support of supply chain activities.
• Partners with stakeholders and leadership to improve supply chain performance and collaboration with suppliers. Establishes methods for delivering monthly supplier updates.
• Supports all central replenishment activities, including meeting with vendors to collaborate inventory forecasting and replenishment strategies.
• Creates supply chain metrics, identifies methods for evaluating supply chain metrics, and audits supply chain data.
• Partners with merchants to plan for promotions, price changes, and exit strategies.
• Develops decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory. Analyzes multi-tier distribution channels to determine cost and service level tradeoffs for product categories. Develops forecasting tools to support collaborative planning with merchandising suppliers.

Nature and Scope

Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data. Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process. May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
