About the Role

Our client, a leading U.S. retailer with a large-scale, high-volume supply chain operation, is seeking In-Stock Analysts / Supply Chain Analysts to support product availability and in-stock performance.

This is a hands-on, analytical role focused on understanding the movement of products throughout the supply chain. You’ll use item- and supplier-level data to answer three critical questions: Where do we have a problem? Why is it happening? Is it getting better?

You’ll monitor in-stock performance, identify risks and exceptions, diagnose the root causes of product availability issues, and track recovery efforts through resolution. This position is focused on inventory availability and supply chain execution—not cost analysis, strategic sourcing, or procurement.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor OOS, OvS, fill rate, in-stock, and other product availability KPIs across assigned commodities and suppliers.
  • Analyze large volumes of item- and supplier-level data to identify trends, risks, exceptions, and emerging availability issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine the drivers behind in-stock gaps, including forecasting, supplier capacity, inventory flow, and logistics.
  • Track supplier commitments, recovery timelines, fill rates, and performance to determine whether issues are improving.
  • Identify and elevate meaningful risks and exceptions to the In-Stock Manager.
  • Support dashboards, reporting, and recurring weekly performance and OvS reviews.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Supply Chain, and other teams to investigate issues and validate data.
  • Maintain item-level data accuracy, including coding, setup, status changes, and other information required for reliable reporting.
  • Track identified issues and recovery plans through resolution.
  • Provide accurate, actionable insights that support day-to-day supply chain decision-making.
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Work with a large-scale, high-volume retail supply chain where your analysis directly supports product availability.
  • Gain hands‑on ownership of inventory and supplier performance data across the end‑to‑end movement of products.
  • Build experience across in‑stock analytics, demand planning, supplier performance, inventory flow, and logistics.
  • Partner with multiple supply chain functions while developing a deeper understanding of what drives product availability.
  • 6–12+ month engagement with the opportunity to get your foot in the door and potentially be considered for conversion.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience analyzing supply chain, inventory, supplier, or product availability data.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work through large amounts of item- and supplier-level information.
  • Ability to identify trends, risks, exceptions, and performance gaps within data.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and determining what is driving operational issues.
  • Understanding of inventory flow and product availability throughout the supply chain.
  • Experience monitoring and interpreting metrics such as OOS, fill rate, service level, in-stock, OvS, or similar supply chain KPIs.
  • Ability to monitor supplier performance, commitments, and recovery plans through resolution.
  • Experience supporting recurring reports, dashboards, or performance reviews.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate item-level data.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable taking tactical, desk-level ownership of analysis and execution.
Preferred Skills
  • Retail, grocery, food, CPG, or another high‑volume product supply chain environment.
  • Demand Planning experience or exposure.
  • Inventory planning, replenishment, or inventory management experience.
  • Fill‑rate, OOS, service-level, or product availability analysis.
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) exposure.
  • Previous experience supporting an in‑stock, replenishment, inventory planning, or product availability team.
