Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior supply chain analytics professional in Alabama to lead data‑driven decision support. You will build scalable analytics, dashboards, and forecasting models, while improving planning processes and SOPs.

You will collaborate with supply planners to improve data accuracy, reduce waste, and automate reporting. Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years in supply chain analytics, BI expertise with Power BI, and strong SQL/Python skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, supply chain, logistics or engineering.
• 5–8+ years of experience in the supply chain industry.
• Procurement/logistics background in the food industry preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Expertise in BI and analytics; dashboards/reports using Power BI or similar tools.
• Strong data mining/analysis skills (SQL, Python).

Responsibilities

• Build scalable analytics solutions and performance metrics for supply chain.
• Develop, maintain, and improve reporting systems, tools, and data pipelines.
• Document and improve end-to-end planning processes.
• Develop and maintain supply planning SOPs.
• Identify and reduce aging/slow-moving inventory to cut waste.
• Collaborate with supply planners to minimize errors and manual workarounds.
• Monitor data accuracy metrics impacting service and cost.
• Automate manual reports and improve self-service reporting.
• Create standardized reporting templates for supply chain and leadership.
• Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and aligned with business needs.
• Provide functional support for the M3 system and incident resolution.
• Act as first-level support for business users and escalate to IT when needed.
• Promote use of digital tools for planning execution and visibility.
• Assess technology requirements to support current or proposed business.
• Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data, and develop models.

Job description

• Responsible for building scalable analytics solutions
• Develop performance metrics and support continuous improvement of reporting systems, tools, and data pipelines
• Document, maintain, and continuously improve End-to-End (E2E) Planning processes
• Develop, update, and maintain Supply Planning related SOP's
• Initiate process improvements surrounding aging, slow moving, and short shelf-life inventory to reduce overall waste
• Collaborate with Supply Planners to reduce errors, duplications, and manual workarounds
• Monitor and improve data accuracy metrics impacting service and cost
• Automate manual reports and improve self-service reporting capabilities
• Develop standardized reporting templates for supply chain, and leadership teams
• Ensure dashboards are user-friendly, accurate, and aligned with business requirements
• Provide functional support for Supply Chain system (M3)
• Act as first-level support for business users, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and escalation to IT
• Drive effective utilization of digital tools supporting Planning execution and visibility
• Assess technology requirements needed to support current or proposed business
• Review historical sales trends, sales budgets, and research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.

Requirements

• Bachelors or masters degree in business, supply chain, logistics or engineering
• 5-8 + years of experience within the supply chain industry
• Ideal candidate will have a procurement/logistics background in the food industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated expertise in Business Intelligence and analytics, including development of dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools
• Good understanding of data mining and analysis tools (SQL, Python)
• Excellent problem solving ability with demonstrated experiences of managing with facts not emotion
• Excellent communication skills including listening, written, oral and group presentation
• Ability to communicate with different levels of the organization
• Individual must be a critical thinker and problem solver with analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast paced fluid work environment.
