Consolidated Electrical Distributors in Dallas is seeking a Supplier Relations Associate to support the Supplier Relations Department, manage supplier programs, rebate tracking, purchasing analysis, and supplier communications, while contributing to department initiatives.

Job description

The Supplier Relations Associate plays an important role in supporting CED’s Supplier Relations Department and strengthening relationships with CED’s key suppliers. This position supports the management of supplier programs, rebate tracking, purchasing analysis, and supplier communications while contributing to department initiatives and projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong communication skills and an interest in developing supplier relationships and understanding the business. In addition to maintaining accurate records and supporting ongoing supplier programs, this individual will have opportunities to take ownership of projects, identify process improvements, and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to help move initiatives forward.

Working closely with the VP of Supplier Relations, the Supplier Relations Associate will gain exposure to supplier agreements, purchasing activity, rebate programs, and the broader supplier relations function. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and approach responsibilities with initiative and accountability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on assigned responsibilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • One year of administrative, business, purchasing, supplier relations, or internship experience
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, reporting, or data analysis
  • Interest in supplier relationships, business operations, or purchasing
  • Experience communicating with internal or external stakeholders
WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The position is largely a sedentary role. However, filing duties require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supplier Program Management and Analysis
  • Support the management and tracking of supplier programs for CED’s key suppliers, including annual rebates, freight terms, return authorization terms, and other program agreements.
  • Track and reconcile supplier rebates and merchandise credits, ensuring accurate records and timely follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Prepare quarterly purchasing reports and assist with analyzing supplier purchasing activity and program performance.
  • Maintain accurate and organized supplier program records
  • Develop familiarity with supplier agreements and program requirements to support accurate information sharing and internal inquiries.
Supplier and Internal Relationship Support
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key suppliers through regular written and verbal communication.
  • Serve as a resource for internal managers by responding to supplier program questions and helping address requests.
  • Support communication of relevant supplier opportunities, program updates, and information to internal CED teams.
  • Assist with coordinating supplier meetings, department initiatives, and other business-related activities as needed.
Project Ownership and Department Support
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities, managing timelines, communicating progress, and following through to completion.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen supplier program management.
  • Work closely with the VP of Supplier Relations to provide updates on projects, initiatives, and supplier-related activities.
  • Support the preparation of materials, reports, and information for supplier meetings and internal business discussions.
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Relations Department and other CED teams on projects and initiatives that support supplier relationships and business objectives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the needs of the Supplier Relations Department.
