Description

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We currently have an opportunity for a Supplier Quality Technician at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the monitoring/metrics, development, review, and auditing of Subcontractors. Audit, train, and provide guidance to subcontractor employees and their managers concerning contract requirements. Assess the compliance of Subcontractor QMS documentation to ensure contractual requirements are being met. Communicate with executive and management personnel concerning trends. Review potential new Subcontractors QMS systems to ensure that they have certified procedures and that MMC has properly flowed down the contract requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the monitoring/metrics development, review, and auditing of on and off-site subcontractors.
  • Audit, train, and provide guidance to subcontractor employees and their managers concerning contract requirements
  • Ensure vendors are properly qualified to the quality standards invoked in the contract. Assist in the clarification of requirements or process improvement initiatives when requested by management. (i.e.: walk vendor through specs, explain the quality standards etc).
  • Review potential new Subcontractors QMS systems to ensure that they have certified procedures and that MMC has properly flowed down the contract requirements.
  • Provide input to Subcontractor buyers concerning quality trends of subcontractor Quality.
  • Responsible to analyze supplier quality and determine if work is non-conforming to requirements.
  • Provide proper communication to all parties in the event of a supplier quality issue.
  • Maintains a commitment to the company vision and the "spirit" of the organization.
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position does not directly supervise employees. Demonstrates leadership skills that align with the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: · Associates degree from an accredited junior/technical college · Or high school diploma with 5-7 years' experience in the shipbuilding and/or Quality field · Prior experience in a supplier quality role preferred · Ability to read and interpret Fabrications Drawings and Specifications. · Welding and NDT knowledge preferred. SKILLS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee’s workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
