Job Title:Supplier Quality Technician (Assembly)

Hours:1st shift, currently working 5 days/week with OT as needed
Job Duties:- Take dimensional measurements of products using quality instrumentation in efforts to support product audit requirements
- Support Plant Supplier Quality Engineer on internal and external supplier issues with glass, rubber, electronic, plastic, or painted parts
- Support metrology and calibration needs, coordinating gauge maintenance plans with labs
- Support production on visual aspect decisions regarding paint, plastic, glass, electronic, or rubber part issues or non-conformances
- Support Engineering and Quality in problem solving, performing root cause analysis and coordinating and implementing appropriate corrective action
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure that for every quality incident and logistic incident, a fast reaction is anticipated and managed within the plant
- Prepare all information needed to understand and solve issues by obtaining the supporting pictures, defect description, quantity, traceability, etc. and communicating that information to the Plant with the appropriate reporting
- Ensure any rework instructions and their applications are properly completed
- Set-up quality wall and train the quality wall quality inspectors (also third party) according to the customer requirements or depending on the quality results
- Manage the resulting action plan and daily reporting with objective of removing the quality wall as soon as possible
- Provide competence on Dimensional and Cosmetic appearance assessment and measurement
- Lead PPAP and FMEA processes and documentation, reporting
- Participate and support program launch as needed
- Run containment/ plant sweeps when required
- Record, report and follows-up on production line concerns
- Participate in supplier audits as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:- High school diploma or GED, Associates degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred but not required
- Quality inspection skills at a high level with familiarity of quality forplastic injection molded parts, painted parts, glass, or rubber seals/assemblies required
- Previous experience providing quality support in an automotive tier I JIT/JIS environment for supplier parts, as well as leading PPAP and FMEA processes and documentation; history of success in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Understanding of class A or surface/fascia parts quality requirements a plus
- Ability to identify potential problems and escalate when needed
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Detail Oriented
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel applications
