Everforth Apex Systems in Foster City, CA seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to assure prototype and production supplier quality, drive continuous improvement, and lead process development. Automotive chassis experience and NPI exposure are preferred.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, at least 6 years in QA/ supplier quality, and strong problem-solving skills (Six-Sigma, DOE, SPC). Travel up to 40% is expected.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent engineering degree.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Quality, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing in automotive, aviation, or medical device industries, or a combination of Supplier Quality and Internal Plant quality development. Experience in NPI and improving quality systems is required.
• Certifications such as CQE from ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or certified Quality Systems Auditor.

Mansioni

• Work with Engineering and Strategic Sourcing managers to select appropriate suppliers by conducting detailed supplier process assessments and audits.
• Work with suppliers on technical design elements, conduct CAD model and print reviews to assess design for manufacturability, and collaborate on developing new manufacturing techniques.
• Lead the Supplier Industrialization Roadmap by conducting product and process development activities and capability assessments at supplier manufacturing sites.
• Identify supplier production equipment, tooling, and fixturing requirements, and drive qualification activities to verify and validate them.
• Work with strategic sourcing managers to assess supplier readiness for vehicle build events, identify risks related to production ramp, and report on risk mitigation plans.
• Manage and continuously improve the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process with suppliers from the initial design stage through the start of production.
• Train suppliers on the supplier quality portal, review document submissions, and provide feedback.
• Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis with suppliers and vehicle manufacturing, track corrective actions, and ensure process documentation is updated.
• Analyze and report on incoming supplier part quality metrics, including First Article Inspection reports, Cp/Cpk analysis, Pareto, and Statistical Process Control.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools.
• Up to 40% domestic/international travel is required, occasionally on short notice.
