Job summary

Georgia-Pacific seeks a Supplier Quality Manager for Consumer Products to lead supplier quality across inputs and services, ensuring regulatory compliance and product safety. Hybrid work in Atlanta with regular travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities include qualifying suppliers, establishing quality expectations, audits, CAPA, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable supply and reduce risk within the CP G-P supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science.
  • Experience in a quality role including supplier quality performance management, RCA investigations and CAPA.
  • Experience with maintenance and auditing of Quality Assurance/Quality Management Systems (ISO, ASQ, HACCP) including Process & Capability Assessments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with site-level projects.
  • Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with AI tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including international travel.

Job description

Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group is now hiring a Supplier Quality Manager – Consumer Products! The successful candidate will oversee the quality for inputs of materials and services used in manufacture of Georgia-Pacific’s various consumer products.

In support of the Consumer Products Group’s vision to consistently execute to the product design through proactive application of risk management to all parts of the supply chain; this role will hold suppliers accountable for quality, regulatory compliance and product safety. This is a growing, evolving role. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain existing systems and processes to support supplied packing products quality, continue the current build out of similar processes for stretch film and paperboard substrate, and further grow the breadth of G-P CPG’s supplier management program to address suppliers of good and services as prioritized with leadership to create value, reduce risk and support strategic sourcing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be located in Atlanta, GA and work a hybrid schedule of in office and remote (from home) days but will travel regularly (~50-75%).

What You Will Do
  • Work in conjunction with cross-functional team members as the Quality lead in the selection and qualification of suppliers of materials and services used throughout G-P’s CPG supply chain
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams to bring new products to market
  • Establish clear quality process expectations for suppliers (i.e. Start-Up activities, On-going Inspections, and Reporting Requirements)
  • Actively monitor supplier quality data and address any non-conformances
  • Work with the Sourcing team and Legal to incorporate all key quality expectations in supplier contracts
  • Monitor complaints and address any systemic quality issues
  • Perform supplier quality audits as appropriate
  • Manage and maintain the quality requirements of the Product Development Program including but not limited to design input and output documentation, applicable risk analyses, verification and validation activities and formal product launch reviews
  • Effectively interact with contract manufacturing and product development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products by implementing quality engineering best practices. (Note: This would include job functions beyond Quality in a manufacturing environment or managing QA/Quality Management Systems only)
  • Lead cross-functional teams and diverse internal customer initiatives and collaborations
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science
  • Experience in a quality role to include supplier quality performance management & metrics; RCA investigations and installations; verification and validation of CAPA outputs
  • Experience with maintenance and auditing of Quality Assurance/Quality Management Systems (such as ISO, ASQ, HACCP) to include Process & Capability Assessments
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt practitioner with site level projects
  • Proficient in MS Suite tools and consistent use of AI tools
  • Must be willing and available to travel up to 75%, including occasional international travel
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Demonstrated Enterprise Supplier Quality Management Program development and maintenance
  • Certified Quality Systems auditor (systems such as ISO, ASQ, HACCP), with understanding to build in quality and reducing variability
  • Experience with poly film, corrugated or folding carton manufacturing including printing and converting processes, vision monitoring and defect detection systems
  • Diverse raw material & critical input process control background across manufacturing system types (continuous, discrete, batch, assembly, etc.) & component processing experience
  • Proficient in use of Smartsheet software and value creation from application of AI
  • Based in the Atlanta metropolitan area
