Job summary

Fort Mill, SC—Schaeffler is seeking a Supplier Quality Management Component Introduction Engineer to monitor KPIs, manage pre-serial supplier activity, and drive continuous improvement in quality and supplier performance. You will coordinate introductions, conduct audits, and support cost-efficient resolutions while ensuring adherence to Schaeffler standards.

The role requires a strong quality background, ISO/IATF/AS standards knowledge, and hands-on experience with quality tools plus project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or related field (or 5+ years in automotive/industrial quality with no degree).
• 5+ years in project management focusing on quality or supplier quality in manufacturing/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and AS 9100.
• Proficiency with 8D, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, 5S, Lean, and VDA methods.
• Excellent communication, analytical, team-focused and accountable.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report KPIs and follow up on countermeasures.
• Escalate risks to quality, deadlines, or production readiness promptly.
• Manage suppliers and components through pre-serial phase from sourcing to launch handover.
• Coordinate component introduction with suppliers meeting deadlines and specs.
• Conduct supplier component reviews and report CI status to SQP.
• Drive actions to prevent production jeopardy, incl. prototypes with deviations.
• Perform onsite supplier audits (Run@Rate, capacity, VDA 6.3) and approve M4 samples.
• Handle supplier complaints and support cost management during CI.
