Job Details

Title: Supplier Quality Engineer - Senior

Location: Plymouth, MN

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary

Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers. Provides technical support in the selection of suppliers. Develops acceptance criteria for materials. Monitors supplier performance to drive corrective actions, manufacturing yield, and field failures. Ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

1. Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities.
2. Provide technical support for the introduction of components from new suppliers.
3. Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures. Train inspectors. Develop/source inspection tools and equipment.
4. Assist in generating component specifications.
5. Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification reports, and approve components for use.
6. Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
7. Analyze incoming material defects and drive corrective actions.
8. Communicate issues to suppliers.
9. Review new design specifications for quality and manufacturability.
10. Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans.
11. Perform tasks in a quality system environment, lead moderate scope projects, and guide less experienced staff.

Minimum Education & Experience

BS in engineering or related scientific field plus 9 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 0-2 years of related experience.
