Job summary

Abbott’s Minnetonka location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer II to drive supplier quality improvements for external components. You will assess suppliers, define acceptance criteria, and support new supplier integrations in a cross-functional team.

Role focuses on developing testing protocols, improving materials quality, and guiding corrective actions to prevent field failures. Strong knowledge of QA systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Masters degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of related work experience.
• Working knowledge of quality systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality and manufacturing capabilities.
• Provide technical support for introduction of components from a new supplier.
• Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures; train inspectors.
• Develops inspection tools/equipment and assist in defining component specs.
• Generate test protocols, monitor testing, and approve components for use in products.
• Provide input to Design Engineering on component tech and reliability analysis.
• Investigate field failures related to supplier materials.
• Lead corrective actions and mentor inspectors when applicable.
