Overview

This is a remote role, seeking candidates in the Northeast or Midwest territories of the US. Candidates MUST reside in one of those States.

Position Summary

Take the lead in Supplier Quality Rescue Projects, driving issue resolution, action plans and strategic supplier improvement. Collaborate with our Team in Brazil to ensure that our supplier quality targets are met by e.g., conducting on-site supplier audits and visits, investigate quality problems, implement sustainable solutions and provide regular progress updates to our Top Management. Responsibilities
  • Supplier Identification, Evaluation, Selection & Onboarding:

    Perform Risk Assessment during selection process for new Suppliers. Provide onboarding training to our suppliers (e.g., for relevant tools).

  • Supplier Assessments:

    Conduct supplier (quality system and product) audits, risk assessments, and technical visits to ensure quality standards, manage supplier performance (e.g., F4G) and foster continuous improvement. Request further measures to ensure the supplier’s quality and schedule goals are met (e.g., stock re-inspections, visits and audit methods to sub-tiers to guarantee quality, Lean assessments and P3E to production processes).

  • Supplier Non-Conformity Handling:

    Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions while managing non-conformance processes and supplier blocks. Ensure the execution of the concession management process.

  • Supplier Change & Performance Management:

    Support the handling of quality requirements, product design and supply chain as well as process changes, while monitoring supplier performance and driving Lean initiatives.

  • Collaboration & Reporting:

    Work closely with cross-functional Embraer teams and suppliers to resolve issues, enhance integration, and deliver executive updates. As a consistent data baseline, maintain QM info record and control plans in SAP up to date. Based upon this data and implementation plans, provide regular written and verbal reports to all our partners and, especially, our Top Management.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

  • bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher (e.g., Master’s degree)

Experience:

  • According to professional experience required in the job position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Quality & Problem-Solving Expertise

  • Strong understanding of quality management principles and problem-solving methodologies (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, MSA, SPC). Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred).
  • Experience leading problem-solving projects in operations, supplier management, or development environments.
  • Ability to set up and coordinate supplier problem-solving programs.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, publications, and reliability analyses.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Communication & Leadership

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical, process-oriented thinking with a proactive and assertive approach.
  • Conflict management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Languages & Travel

  • Fluent in English (mandatory).
  • Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian, or French (a plus).
  • Will­ingness to travel internationally, including long-term assignments.
