General Summary:

Responsible for reviewing current internal and external quality indicators and ensuring the quality of parts provided by suppliers.

  1. Plan and ensure the quality of supplied parts through collaborative partnerships within the company and with suppliers, including: Supplier Process Audits, Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) review and approvals, Good Part Teardowns, Daily Quality Management part checks, etc.
  2. Production Support - Ensure the resolution of production-related issues between areas, support daily review of Non-Conforming Product (NCP), retro-fits, yard campaigns, and material checks as needed.
  3. Monitor and investigate concerns related to Internal (FTTQ, On-Line Repairs, VPC Issues, Customer Audit, etc.) and External (Dealer Claim, 3MIS, JD Power IQS, etc.) quality indicators and drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and implementation of short-term and long-term countermeasures.
  4. Work within cross-functional teams, assist where needed for the benefit of the company.
  5. Strive continually for improvements and customer satisfaction in all facets of the business.
  6. Prepare detailed plans, reports, and schedules for the Quality Department.
  7. Implement and enforce all policies and standards.

Qualifications and Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Competencies):
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or related field, with two to five years of experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong self-responsibility, planning, and organizational skills.
  3. Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  4. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  5. Analytical problem-solving and effective decision-making skills.
  6. Ability to perform multiple tasks with various priorities within designated timeframes.
  7. Broad understanding of automotive industry standards.
  8. Ability to understand and meet diverse customer needs and global business requirements.
  9. Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in decision-making and essential job duties.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
  1. Experience with SAP system preferred.
  2. Technical skills and knowledge of quality control systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  3. Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  4. High level of knowledge and manufacturing experience with electrical commodity products such as Wire Harness, ADAS, TCU/ECU modules, Radars, Multi-Function Cameras, Temperature Control Modules, Batteries, PCBs, Capacitors, Resistors, Transistors, and integrated circuits.
  5. Preferred experience in vehicle electrical systems, including diagnosis, electrical diagrams and schematics, CAN communication, onboard diagnostics, and scanning tools.
  6. Knowledge of electrical assembly methods including SMT, reflow/wave/selective soldering, conformal coating, in-circuit testing, burn-in, and functional testing.
  7. Wire harness assembly methods including assembly boards, continuity testing, pin insertion, crimping, cutting, and hanking.
