Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team.

The employee will own supplier results and drive quality improvements for assigned suppliers. Responsibilities include selecting and developing new suppliers through qualification processes, conducting supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and implementing improvement plans when necessary. The role requires knowledge of quality practices and understanding of how the supplier quality area integrates with other business functions. The candidate should be capable of leading and coordinating projects with cross-functional teams to achieve significant business impact.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Manage both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development activities, including supplier qualification, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, new product readiness, and supporting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.
2. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and promote continuous improvement.
3. Demonstrate technical understanding of engineering drawings and vendor management to solve problems effectively.
4. Serve as a quality resource within the organization, contributing to strategy and policy development, and ensuring delivery within the area of responsibility.
5. Communicate complex messages clearly and influence outcomes, leading projects with cross-functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, and procurement.
6. Develop networks and navigate complex issues to build consensus and support business objectives.
7. Make sound judgments and solve moderately complex tasks impacting the function and cross-functional areas, using technical expertise and data analysis to support decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Supplier Development.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality or development roles.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
