Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer to partner with suppliers, manufacturing teams, engineering, and sourcing to uphold quality standards across the supply chain.

You will lead PPQs, resolve supplier quality issues, and drive improvements in manufacturability and reliability for Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine operations globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or equivalent industrial environment.
• Travel up to 20% internationally and domestically as required.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, supplier quality management, GD&T, inspection methods and capability assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier product and process qualification activities (PPQs) to ensure quality and manufacturing requirements.
• Investigate, contain, and resolve supplier quality issues across facilities, warehouses, and customers globally.
• Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods.
• Audit, assess, and develop supplier manufacturing capabilities to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability and quality performance.
• Identify and pursue continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities across suppliers.

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, you will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, engineering, and sourcing organizations to ensure products and processes meet Siemens Energy quality standards. You will lead supplier qualification activities, resolve supplier quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. Your role will be critical in maintaining supplier performance, ensuring product conformity, and supporting business continuity for Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine operations globally.

• Lead supplier product and process qualification activities (PPQs) to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing requirements.


• Investigate, contain, and resolve supplier quality issues impacting manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and customers globally.


• Drive supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.


• Audit, assess, and develop supplier manufacturing capabilities to meet current and future business requirements.


• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, quality performance, and supply chain reliability.


• Identify and support continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities across the supplier base.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.


• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related industrial/manufacturing environment. (Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 20% of the time required).


• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, Supplier Quality Management, manufacturing processes, GD&T, inspection methodologies, and manufacturing capability assessments.


• Experience applying quality improvement and problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa, with the ability to manage multiple investigations and supplier quality issues simultaneously.


• Proficiency with SAP and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure product manufacturability and quality requirements are achieved.
