Job summary

Alstom in the Pittsburgh area seeks a Process Engineer to design and optimize manufacturing processes that power the next generation of sustainable mobility. You will work with cross‑functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across production lines.

You will lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives, drive process reliability, and introduce automation and digital tools to boost performance, while traveling 30–40% to US supplier sites and collaborating in a hybrid setup with four onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of two years of experience in engineering, quality, and production environments.
• Experience related to supplier quality or vendor development is desirable.
• Knowledge of 8D problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Ability to travel 30-40% to supplier sites, mainly in the United States.
• Hybrid work: four onsite days per week and one remote day.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Siemens Tecnomatix and ISO 9001/PFMEA knowledge.
• Proficiency in SPC data analysis and problem solving; Green Belt is a plus.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of two years of experience in engineering, quality, and production environments.
• Experience related to supplier quality, supplier development, vendor quality, or vendor development functions is desirable.
• Knowledge of structured problem‑solving methodologies, including 8D problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-40% of the time to supplier sites, primarily within the United States, with limited travel to Mexico.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with four onsite days per week and one remote workday.
• Experience with process simulation tools such as AutoCAD or Siemens Tecnomatix.
• Strong understanding of quality systems like ISO 9001 and PFMEA.
• Ability to analyze production data using statistical process control (SPC) methods.
• Green Belt certification or demonstrated problem‑solving expertise - desired.
