EthosEnergy is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Light Turbines business unit in Houston, TX. This key role manages vendor part quality, addresses quality escapes, and supports improvements in part delivery, to reduce part cost and to reduce cost of poor quality to the business. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and at least two years of experience in a manufacturing or part repair environment. Additional requirements include hands‑on experience with precision part inspection methods and procedures, along with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, machining, coating, welding and brazing, fabrication and assembly, material selection, heat treatment, dimensional inspection, and non‑destructive testing.
Job Responsibilities
- Actively manage vendor quality of qualified new‑make and repaired parts.
- Interpret and approve vendor manufacturing documentation including certificates of conformance, dimensional data, heat treatment charts, and mechanical and air flow test results.
- Act as the first point of contact for part related issues for internal quality inspectors.
- Participate on the Material Review Board (MRB) team to address quality escapes and to implement part corrections / ad‑hoc repair work instructions to minimize part scrappage.
- Manage vendor non‑conformances and work with vendors to implement and communicate effective quality corrective and preventative action plans.
- Develop strong quality relationships with vendors through effective communication and reporting tools.
- Participate in vendor quality audits in accordance with quality management processes.
- Analyze products and processes, collaborating with vendors and design engineers to improve quality, delivery, and cost throughout the product lifecycle.
- Project manage quality improvement projects from initiation through to closing using standard project management and reporting tools.
- Formally lead complex root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventative solutions in a variety of challenging environments.
- Author technical reports in support of vendor quality.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturing specifications, and repair requirements.
- Ability to partner with vendors to identify and resolve part manufacturing or repair issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear technical direction.
- Ability to manage individual projects and lead small teams toward agreed deliverables.
- Ability to complete tasks and deliver results through both theoretical analysis and hands‑on work.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging environments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to build credibility with internal and external customers through strong technical competence.
- Strong understanding of product quality, delivery, and cost considerations.
- Self‑motivated to conduct independent engineering research.
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours when needed to support internal and external customer requirements.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing or part repair environment, such as forging, casting, precision machining, coating, or welding.
- Hands‑on experience with precision part inspection methods and procedures.
- Preferred knowledge of manufacturing processes, including casting, forging, machining, coating, welding and brazing, fabrication and assembly, material selection, heat treatment, dimensional inspection, and non‑destructive testing.
- Supply chain experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Six Sigma or Lean knowledge preferred.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.
Physical Requirements
- Able to travel domestically and internationally to vendor locations.
- Able to work in a workshop environment.
- Able to lift 35lb (solo lift).
