Job description

Apex Systems is seeking a Traveling Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE). This fully remote position requires weekly travel to supplier locations across North America, including the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This is a 5-month contract with potential for extension. The role follows a first-shift schedule from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct onsite audits and risk assessments at supplier facilities.
  2. Coordinate with the Supplier Quality Engineer and Plant Engineer to prepare for audits.
  3. Communicate audit plans and purposes with suppliers.
  4. Perform various audits, including process, rapid plant assessment, and safety evaluations.
  5. Review operational capacity, logistics, and delivery performance.
  6. Discuss findings with suppliers and develop corrective action plans.
  7. Document and report audit results using client systems and trackers.
  8. Collaborate with suppliers on resolving issues and improving quality standards.
  9. Provide training on quality standards and monitor supplier compliance.
  10. Report progress and findings to internal stakeholders.
  11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  12. Utilize PowerBI and MS 365 for documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Strong auditing experience.
  • Ability to travel freely within North America with a valid passport.
  • Experience with supplier evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and MS 365.
  • Preferably experience in the automotive industry.
  • ASQ Certified Auditors are a plus.
