We are looking for a talented Supplier Quality Manager to establish and scale supplier quality and supplier development for high‑reliability space hardware programs. This role will connect supplier qualification, contract manufacturer oversight, supplier audits, source inspection, scorecards, and supplier corrective action into a practical operating discipline for the U.S. site. The ideal candidate brings strong aerospace, defense, electronics, or high‑reliability hardware supplier quality experience, hands‑on execution capability, and the judgment to build scalable processes without unnecessary bureaucracy.

What you will be doing
  • Build and lead the U.S. supplier quality function for direct suppliers, strategic suppliers, and Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs).
  • Establish supplier qualification, audit cadence, source inspection strategy, supplier scorecards, and escalation paths aligned with AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Plan and conduct supplier and CEM audits, including initial qualification, production readiness, process capability, and ongoing performance assessments.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics covering quality, delivery, responsiveness, corrective action closure, and recurring risk trends.
  • Lead supplier nonconformance and corrective action activity, including containment, root cause analysis, disposition support, and effectiveness verification.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality requirements and flowdowns for space‑grade hardware, including workmanship, traceability, counterfeit prevention, inspection, and documentation expectations.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain, Design Assurance, Program Quality, Engineering, and contract manufacturers on supplier selection, parts qualification, First Article Inspection (FAI), source inspection, and production readiness.
  • Support CEM onboarding by defining quality expectations, inspection/test handoffs, nonconformance processes, reporting cadence, and performance review structure.
  • Manage supplier quality risks across critical suppliers, sole‑source parts, PCB fabrication, EEE parts, outsourced manufacturing, and customer‑facing supplier commitments.
  • Brief leadership on supplier quality health, audit findings, scorecard trends, corrective action status, and decisions needed to protect program execution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of supplier quality, supplier development, quality engineering, or manufacturing quality experience in aerospace, defense, space, electronics manufacturing, or another high‑reliability hardware environment.
  • Experience leading supplier quality activities, supplier corrective actions, audits, or supplier development efforts in a complex hardware environment.
  • Direct experience auditing or managing electronics suppliers, contract manufacturers, PCB suppliers, component suppliers, or other high‑reliability manufacturing partners.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and relevant aerospace, defense, and electronics manufacturing standards such as IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑001, NASA‑STD‑8739, ECSS‑Q‑ST‑70, or equivalent customer requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience with First Article Inspection (AS9102 or equivalent), source inspection, supplier nonconformance management, and supplier corrective action.
  • Familiarity with counterfeit prevention and supply chain integrity practices such as AS5553, AS6081, GIDEP, or comparable industry approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to travel for supplier audits, source inspection, and CEM onboarding (estimated 20‑50% travel during ramp‑up).
Advantages
  • Direct experience qualifying or managing Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs), PCB fabricators, EEE parts suppliers, hybrid/microelectronics suppliers, or space‑grade hardware suppliers.
  • Experience supporting AS9100 supplier management requirements, supplier flowdowns, supplier surveillance, and customer or certification audits.
  • Experience with IPC‑A‑610 Class 3/Class S, J‑STD‑001 Space Addendum, NASA‑STD‑8739 series, ECSS‑Q‑ST‑70‑28, or comparable space workmanship standards.
  • Prior experience standing up or improving a supplier quality function at a growing aerospace, defense, electronics, or high‑reliability hardware company.
  • Familiarity with ESA Alerts, GIDEP, industry alert systems, obsolescence monitoring, or high‑reliability supplier risk management.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), IPC certification, Lean/Six Sigma, or comparable certification a plus.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Benefits at Ramon.Space include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, FSAs, 401(k) match, short‑term and long‑term disability, and parental leave.
  • Flexible hybrid working model with opportunities for remote work. The office is located in the Denver Tech Center.
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment. Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Be part of a pioneering team in the satellite communication industry.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $175,000 with the potential for a bonus. Ramon.Space will consider relevant work experience, skills, education, and training when putting together an offer for this position.
