Job summary

Brose North America is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support APQP activities, lead supplier feasibility, and drive successful PPAP submissions with automotive suppliers.

You will conduct on-site supplier reviews, Run@Rate activities, process audits, and root cause analyses to ensure robust supplier performance and program launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor' s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Quality Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive
• Proven APQP, PPAP submission experience with suppliers
• Experience with AIAG and/or VDA 6.3 methodologies

Responsibilities

• Supports BD development to ensure a successful launch of supplier tools.
• Leads supplier feasibility activities during sourcing to ensure manufacturing readiness.
• Performs Supplier Quality Gates including on-site supplier reviews and assessments.
• Reviews and approves PPAP submissions and supplier launch readiness.
• Executes APQP activities throughout the launch and development cycle.
• Conducts supplier process reviews, Run@Rate activities, and audits to verify capability and capacity.
• Manages supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving.
• Knowledge of SAP compliance and monitoring supplier deviations.
• Serves as the key contact between suppliers and the Brose Customer Team.
• Supports suppliers during escalated Series Production concerns.
• Provides status updates and escalation summaries to management.
• Adheres to OSHA regulations and Brose quality processes.

Your tasks

• Supports BD development to ensure a successful launch of supplier tools.
• Leads supplier feasibility activities during the sourcing stage to ensure manufacturing readiness and successful program launches.
• Performs Supplier Quality Gates per the Brose process, including on-site supplier reviews and assessments.
• Reviews and approves supplier gaging concepts.
• Reviews and approves all elements of PPAP submissions.
• Executes and supports APQP activities throughout the launch and development cycle.
• Conducts supplier process reviews, Run@Rate activities, and product/process audits to verify supplier capability and capacity.
• Manages supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies to ensure robust solutions.
• Demonstrates knowledge and adherence of SAP compliance.
• Monitors and tracks all supplier deviations through closure.
• Serves as the key contact between suppliers and the Brose Customer Team.
• Supports and leads suppliers during escalated Series Production concerns.
• Provides regular status updates and escalation summaries to management.
• Initiates activities to create HIPAA privacy awareness within the organization and implements privacy policies and procedures.
• Adheres to Brose North America (BNA) Quality Policy. Please refer to the Brose Quality Process Flowchart for applicable procedures.
• Considers all valid Procedures, Job Instructions, and Organizational Instructions.
• Adheres to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and implements all necessary measures for work, health, safety, and environmental protection within the range of responsibility.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Quality Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years of Supplier Quality experience supporting automotive suppliers.
• Proven record of successful execution of APQP activities and product launches with suppliers.
• Experience reviewing and approving PPAP submissions and supporting supplier launch readiness activities.
• Experience conducting Product Process Audits utilizing AIAG and/or VDA 6.3 methodologies.
• Experience executing Run@Rate activities and evaluating supplier manufacturing performance.
• Strong working knowledge of Automotive Core Quality Tools including FMEA, SPC, MSA, GD&T, and Root Cause Analysis.
• Experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as PDCA and 8D.
• Experience reviewing dimensional inspection reports and working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Knowledge of SAP modules related to Supplier Quality, including initial sampling, supplier notifications, and supplier claims management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Minitab.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, evaluate data, and drive effective solutions.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to effectively engage suppliers, internal teams, and leadership.
• Ability to elevate issues appropriately and drive accountability across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated, business-oriented, and eager to continuously improve processes and supplier performance.
• Fluent English required; Spanish preferred.
