Reporting to the FSQA Lead, North America, the Supplier Quality Assurance Manager is a key member of the corporate FSQA team, managing food safety and quality standards across the supply and service provider chains.

This role is considered "locally remote" to our Atwater, CA facility, meaning the selected candidate does not need to report daily but must attend requested meetings.

Responsibilities
  • 3rd Party Manufacturers
  • Perform qualification and approval assessments, including on-site audits, for proposed 3rd party manufacturers.
  • Conduct Ways of Working (WoW) audits with strategic partners to develop best practice programs.
  • Engage with internal and external teams to support PDI projects, driving innovation and new product launches through our stage-gate process.
  • Evaluate products from 3PM partners and marketplace goods routinely.
  • Work with 3PMs to resolve quality issues and develop corrective action plans.
  • Establish continuous improvement activities with 3PM suppliers, tracking performance metrics and compiling scorecards.
  • Material Suppliers
  • Conduct risk assessments for all raw materials, including on-site audits as needed.
  • Approve and guide Procurement and PDI teams on new or modified materials.
  • Manage supplier approvals and ongoing assessments.
  • Collaborate on raw material specifications and review out-of-spec results.
  • Handle quality complaints and determine root causes with supplier teams.
  • Compile supplier performance data for monthly review.
  • Supply Chain
  • Develop FSQA requirements for supply chain partners, including warehousing and transport providers.
  • Perform audits of warehouse operations as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain quality SLAs with logistics providers.
  • Review and resolve quality incidents within logistics networks.
  • Regulatory
  • Support FVSP program management.
  • Conduct mock recalls with warehouse facilities.
  • Coordinate with regulatory teams and agencies on imported goods.
  • Ensure compliance through due diligence testing for the US market.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing quality operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety and regulations (FSMA, FD&C Act, GMPs).
  • Experience with GFSI schemes like SQF and BRC.
  • Proven track record managing 3rd-party compliance and audits.
  • Experience with “ready to eat” food categories.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, lift 15 pounds, and reach overhead.
Travel Requirements
  • Up to 50% travel, domestic and international.
