Supplier Project Engineer
12-Month Remote Contract

System One is seeking a highly motivated Supplier Project Engineer to support a major advanced nuclear technology initiative. This 12-month remote contract role focuses on overseeing the delivery of critical components and equipment, working closely with cross-functional engineering, project management, procurement, legal, and contracts teams. The Supplier Project Engineer will manage supplier performance and ensure alignment with technical and contractual expectations across all phases of procurement and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee supplier performance, including schedule, cost, deliverables, and risk, using established project management tools.

  • Lead supplier selection processes, including RFP development, bid evaluations, and award recommendations in collaboration with contract administrators.

  • Develop statements of work (SOWs), specifications, and project plans that align with program goals.

  • Support component qualification and Commercial Grade Dedication activities in accordance with applicable industry standards (NQA-1, IEEE, ASTM, ASME, etc.).

  • Act as liaison between suppliers and internal technical/commercial teams to ensure scope and contract fidelity.

  • Coordinate internal review processes for supplier submittals to ensure timely, technically sound responses.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and monitor changes in capabilities or structure that could impact project delivery.

  • Participate in supplier audits, surveys, and quality assurance activities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in supplier oversight or project management, including managing cost and schedule for safety-related manufacturing or construction projects. (6 years required without a technical degree.)

  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships, including commercial and contractual coordination.

  • Experience interfacing with engineering teams to ensure technical accuracy in supplier deliverables.

  • Proven ability to define supplier scope and support RFP and SOW development.

  • Familiarity with qualification of nuclear components and Commercial Grade Dedication processes.

  • Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
