Job summary

Supplier Manufacturing Engineer position in El Segundo, CA, is a full-time, 12-month contract on-site role. You will work with sub-tier suppliers to fabricate tooling and collaborate with program management, engineering, and procurement to meet requirements.

Role combines manufacturing engineering, supplier management, quality, and problem‑solving to influence performance from requirements through delivery, with strong emphasis on communication and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with technical documentation and writing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD software.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering and business teams.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with sub‑tier suppliers to manage the fabrication and delivery of tooling.
  • Collaborate with program management, engineering, subcontracts/procurement, functional management, and supplier management teams to ensure procurements meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements.
  • Define supplier statements of work in alignment with contract requirements, policies, processes, and supplier quality standards.
  • Support maintenance of the approved tooling supplier list and periodically review supplier performance.
  • Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting through established tool deviation and quality assurance processes.
  • Evaluate supplier nonconformances, negative performance trends, and failures.
  • Perform root cause analysis and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage source inspection activities and coordinate with customers as required.
  • Verify End Item Data Packages within QTIS are complete prior to shipment.
  • Review manufacturing Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) before shipment.
  • Utilize supplier performance databases and quality management system assessment tools to evaluate and document supplier capabilities.
  • Partner across functions to maintain quality, compliance, schedule performance, and manufacturing excellence.

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation and aerospace industry, to hire a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer supporting the El Segundo Tooling team.

As a member of the Offsite Fabrication department, you'll work directly with sub‑tier suppliers to help manage the successful fabrication of critical tooling. This role combines manufacturing engineering, supplier management, quality, and problem‑solving, giving you the opportunity to influence performance from initial requirements through final delivery.

What You'll Do

As a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer, you'll:

  • Work directly with sub‑tier suppliers to manage the fabrication and delivery of tooling.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Details: $44.65 per hour
