Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Supplier Manager based in Wendell, NC, to lead supplier relationships, drive on-time delivery, and ensure ISO-9000 compliance. The role emphasizes digitalization, cost reduction, and sustainable supply chain practices within a global technology context.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • 5+ years of supplier chain management, procurement, or related field with ISO-9000 focus.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to supplier management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supplier management software/tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed (5–10%).

Responsibilities

  • Apply supplier management strategies aligning with business objectives and ensure top supplier performance.
  • Evaluate suppliers with cross-functional teams on quality, capability, on-time delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor supplier performance against metrics and take corrective action.
  • Support regular supplier audits for contractual, quality, regulatory and sustainability compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and cost savings.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
  • Work with suppliers to develop improvement plans and track progress.
  • Provide regular updates on supplier performance to stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes aligned with ISO-9000.
  • Continuously enhance supplier performance management processes.
  • Identify opportunities to digitalize supply chain processes including supplier communication.
  • Work with IT to implement digital solutions for optimization.
  • Drive measures to reduce carbon footprint in line with Net Zero goals.
  • Provide training on procurement processes and digital tools.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and digitalization in supplier management.

About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We are looking for a Supplier Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.

The Supplier Manager is responsible for managing supplier relationships and performance to ensure the quality and timely delivery of goods and services. He/ she works closely with internal teams to identify business needs and apply strategies that meet those needs while minimizing risks and costs. The Supplier Manager is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve supply chain processes and implementing solutions to drive efficiency, policy alignment and ISO-9000 compliance. The Supplier Manager is also responsible for driving the sustainability and digitalization in the company's supply chain. This includes identifying opportunities to leverage digital technologies to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance employee satisfaction..

  • Apply supplier management strategies that align with business objectives and ensure the highest levels of supplier performance.
  • Evaluate suppliers with cross-functional teams based on quality, technical capability, on-time delivery, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor supplier performance against established metrics and standards, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Support regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and legal, regulatory and sustainability requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps
  • Work with suppliers to develop improvement plans and track progress against them
  • Provide regular updates on supplier performance to key stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes compatible with ISO-9000 systems
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the supplier performance management process
  • Identify opportunities to digitalize supply chain processes including supplier communication
  • Work with cross-functional & IT teams to implement digital solutions to optimize supply chain operations
  • Drive measures to reduce carbon footprint of our supply chain so as to meet our company's Net Zero goal.
  • Provide training and support to supply chain teams on Procurement process, digital tools and technologies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and resolve any issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to supplier management and supply chain process digitalization.

Basic Qualifications:

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
