Job summary

KellyMitchell Group, a leading technology and manufacturing organization, is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineer in Scotts Valley, CA. You will drive supplier development, qualification, and continuous improvement across critical component suppliers.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to enhance supplier capabilities, ensure product quality, optimize processes, and support cost reduction throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing).
  • 5+ years in supplier development, supplier quality, or related engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical components and assemblies, including PCB/PCBA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop supplier capabilities via capability assessments and process improvements.
  • Lead supplier qualification to ensure high quality, cost effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Communicate requirements between suppliers and internal teams (supply chain, design, manufacturing).
  • Drive DFM reviews, tolerance analyses, and validate manufacturing processes against design.
  • Evaluate materials to improve quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost reductions through process improvements and yield enhancement.

Job description

Job Summary

Our client, a leading technology and manufacturing organization, is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineer to drive supplier development, qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives across critical component and assembly suppliers. This role partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to enhance supplier capabilities, ensure product quality, optimize manufacturing processes, and support cost reduction efforts throughout the product lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop supplier capabilities through technical capability assessments and manufacturing process improvement initiatives
  • Lead supplier qualification efforts to ensure sustained high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of critical components and assemblies
  • Facilitate communication of technical requirements between suppliers and internal supply chain, design, and manufacturing teams
  • Drive supplier DFM reviews, assembly tolerance stack-up analyses, and validation of manufacturing processes against design requirements
  • Evaluate new and alternative materials to improve design quality, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through process improvements, material optimization, and yield enhancement initiatives
Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier development, supplier quality, or a related engineering discipline
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes related to mechanical, electrical (including PCB and PCBA), and electro-mechanical components and assemblies
  • Experience performing drawing reviews, tolerance stack-up analyses, metrology evaluations, and statistical analysis using SPC, DOE, and sampling plans
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, often on short notice
Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Prior experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering focused on power semiconductors, injection molding, stamping, sheet metal fabrication, PCBA processes, or top level assembly lines
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, with a good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Experience with ERP and PLM tools to support BOM control, change management, factory quality, and supplier reporting
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc.)

Location: Scotts Valley, CA Work Model: Onsite

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $139,000 to $199,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
