Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Interact with supplier and DENSO executives through daily communications, reports, and presentations.
  • Lead Material Cost Reduction (MCR) projects delivering profitability improvements.
  • Collaborate with regional suppliers to develop and implement Localization plans for new products.
  • Review component Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and apply local best practices to current and future applications.
  • Perform technical cost analyses of supplier quotations and identify opportunities for cost and process improvements.
  • Onsite GENBA visits at supplier facilities and drive manufacturing improvements through Supplier Development.
  • Report project schedules and savings achievement versus targets to leadership monthly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to improve supplier engineering processes.

DENSO is at the forefront of meeting the mobility challenges of today and the future! Our supplier partners are crucial to our mission. We are looking for Supplier Engineers to help us introduce these new technologies and ensure timely, high quality, and optimized cost solutions!



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Interact with supplier and DENSO executives through daily communications, reports, and presentations

  • Material Cost Reduction (MCR) projects delivering profitability improvement to business units

  • Work with regional suppliers to develop & implement Localization plans for new products

  • Review component Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & apply local best practices to current as well as future applications

  • Perform technical cost analysis of supplier quotations; identify and implement cost and process improvements

  • Onsite GENBA at supplier manufacturing facilities & drive manufacturing improvements thru Supplier Development actions

  • Report project schedules & savings achievement versus targets to leadership monthly

  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong Project Management skills; ability to lead cross functional projects & teams

  • Strong knowledge of Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE); proven ability to improve products & processes

  • Ability to work with Suppliers; drive improvements with current partner suppliers as well as introduce new strategic suppliers to strengthen competitiveness

  • Ability to coordinate Production trials, Quality evaluation & Changeovers directly with manufacturing plants

  • Ability to work from DENSO manufacturing facilities as well as Suppliers (10-20% Travel Required)

  • Project management experience

  • Excellent problem solving skills; ability to resolve technical issues cross functionally & achieve schedules

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to report activities & risks across the organization

Annual Salary: $96,000 - $133,000

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our supplier engineering processes.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the team and with external partners.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supplier engineering, supply chain, or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with executives and suppliers.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and technical cost evaluation methods.

  • Experience in driving cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is preferred.

  • Willingness to travel for onsite visits and supplier engagements.
