Job summary

MKS Instruments, Inc. in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Procurement Specialist who will partner with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Finance, and suppliers to procure raw materials, resale products, and services that support production while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery.

You will report to the Procurement Manager and contribute to inventory optimization, supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related procurement experience.
  • Experience with chemicals and SAP systems.
  • Experience with SAP tools and ERP workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire raw materials, resale products, and services meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate capabilities, products, and services.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies.
  • Review MRP messages and ERP reports to support material availability and production requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality.
  • Resolve procurement issues such as delays, shortages, invoicing discrepancies, and quality concerns.
  • Identify and develop new and alternate sources of supply for continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain procurement records including pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, quality, and finance to support objectives.
  • Support inventory optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Procurement Specialist at Atotech, an MKS company, you will partner with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Finance, and suppliers to procure raw materials, resale products, and services that support production requirements while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. In this role, you will report to the Procurement Manager.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire raw materials, resale products, and services that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, products, and services
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Review and act upon MRP messages and ERP reports to support material availability and production requirements
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services
  • Resolve issues related to procurement, such as delivery delays, material shortages, invoicing discrepancies, and quality concerns
  • Identify and develop new and alternate sources of supply to support business continuity and mitigate supply risk
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information, including pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, quality, and finance to support operational and business objectives
  • Support inventory optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of related experience
