Your Impact

As Axon's Supplier Development Engineer, you will support Quality Engineering for all products including Conducted Electrical Weapons (CEW), Cartridges, Body Worn Cameras, and accessories. Your role involves collaborating with suppliers, working with Design Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain, and improving supplier performance and product quality globally.

What You'll Do
  • Audit supplier manufacturing and inspection processes to ensure compliance with Axon quality standards.
  • Participate in supplier selection, evaluation, and onsite audits.
  • Ensure compliance with the Axon Supplier Quality Manual.
  • Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring quality and process requirements are met.
  • Review product validation, monitor supplier process FMEA, and suggest improvements.
  • Evaluate supplier inspection capabilities and assist in generating inspection plans.
  • Assess engineering drawings and specifications for inspection and manufacturing requirements.
  • Monitor and report supplier quality performance, address non-conformances, and issue reports (NCMRs, SCARs).
  • Develop remedial actions for suppliers with low quality performance.
  • Communicate corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Provide data and metrics on supplier quality to relevant teams.
  • Identify and resolve complex quality problems, develop solutions, and improve system performance.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate product quality and performance.
  • Apply engineering principles and knowledge of materials, processes, and quality control to manufacturing and design.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemistry, or Material Engineering.
  • 1-3 years experience in manufacturing mechanical parts.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO9001, AS9100, TS16949).
  • At least two years experience in quality audits using these standards.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and engineering change notices.
  • Understanding of inspection processes and statistical sampling.
  • Proficiency with QC tools, methods, and practices (DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, Lean, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
