Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer Co-op to join our Supplier Engineering Team in Danvers, MA. This roles focuses on standardizing defect characterization, supplier liaison activities, and driving quality improvements across the supply chain.

The candidate will support manufacturing capacity projects, manage obsolescence, and contribute to design for manufacturing initiatives while gaining hands-on experience with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Masters or Undergraduate in Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, supplier management, and planning.
  • Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management terms and concepts; ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support standardization of manufacturing defect characterization at incoming inspection to reduce defect occurrence.
  • Assist in product development projects and liaise for new supplier requirements.
  • Contribute to 'Quality at the Source' program to increase yields at supplier facility.
  • Drive capacity projects to meet manufacturing and business needs.
  • Proactively manage component obsolescence and risk mitigation with suppliers.
  • Support transfer of product improvements into production using DFM principles.

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Supplier Development Engineer Co-op to join our Supplier Engineering Team located in Danvers.

Requirements:
  • Support standardization of manufacturing defect characterization at incoming inspection to drive down long term defect occurrence and improve overall identification
  • Support product development projects and serve as liaison for actions associated with new supplier requirements
  • Assist in the "Quality at the Source" program with the objective of increasing yields at the supplier and qualifying quality inspections at the supplier facility
  • Drive capacity projects to meet manufacturing and business needs
  • Proactively manage component obsolescence
  • Drive second source projects; continuously monitor risk of the existing suppliers /components and define risk mitigation plans
  • Support the transfer of product improvements into production utilizing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Lead analysis of defective components in Incoming Inspection and work with vendors to resolve
  • Manage supplier process validation activities by applying a risk-based approach
  • Implement continuous improvement within supply chain
Qualifications:
  • Student pursuing a Masters or Undergraduate (Senior or Junior) in Engineering, Manufacturing or Supply Chain focus.
  • Understanding of manufacturing process, supplier management, and planning
  • Knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives desired
  • Familiarity with project management terms and concepts, ability to prioritize tasks is a plus
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently
  • Execute tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$23.50/hr to $52.50/hr

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience.

Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan.

Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year.

Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
