A leading aerospace and defense systems company seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to enhance their sourcing strategy. The role involves managing supplier relationships, ensuring production needs, and implementing a compliant approval process. Ideal candidates hold a B.Sc. in Engineering and bring experience in supplier management, with a chance to contribute to important aerospace projects.
Ursa Major was founded to address a critical shortfall in the U.S. industrial base and bring a new model to aerospace and defense systems: we design and manufacture the world’s leading propulsion systems for space, hypersonic applications, and missile systems.
Our products and technologies require an extraordinary team – a team that will mold tomorrow’s technologies while deploying today’s best. We are an intrinsically motivated team that has a passion for solving problems and empowering each other every day to develop our skills, knowing that there is always room for growth.
Ursa’s Supply Chain team moves fast and adapts extremely quickly to change. The Supplier Development Engineer is critical in developing our long-term sourcing strategy through analysis of current, potential, and future suppliers/strategic partners. We already have a great group of partners that we work with, but we’re looking for you to come in and give your opinion on what great looks like for Ursa in the future.
Your primary focus would be to ensure that our current supply base meets the production and development needs of the company. We can’t have too few suppliers to achieve our bold missions, yet too many suppliers can lead to waste through overprocessing and wasted time. A high sense of ownership managing relationships between suppliers, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, and other departments of Ursa is one of the many great responsibilities this role will carry.
