Basic Function
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Deliver food and beverage orders to guests according to hotel specifications and standards, courteously and efficiently.
- Assist in the maintenance of the bar/restaurant area and equipment.
- Ensure accurate and efficient billing of guest charges and maintain bar stocks and par levels.
- Follow established procedures and systems when carrying out side and set-up duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections available in the outlet.
- Maintain knowledge of wine and champagne characteristics, descriptions, and major wines on the list.
- Know the specific glassware, ingredients, preparation methods, and garnishes for each drink.
- Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, especially regarding service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Know the outlet's table/seat/station numbers, capacity, hours, menus, pricing, and dress code.
- Maintain knowledge of and proper use of all equipment.
- Follow departmental policies and service procedures.
- Be proficient with P.O.S. and manual systems.
- Manage assigned bank securely and accurately.
- Obtain outlet keys from the Service Manager's office.
- Complete opening side duties, including checking stock, requisitioning supplies, setting up bar, preparing garnishes, and inspecting cleanliness.
- Greet guests, take orders using suggestive selling, and input orders into the system.
- Serve drinks and food, open wine/champagne bottles, and prepare specialty drinks like cappuccino and espresso.
- Respond promptly to guest needs, handle complaints, and maintain guest relations.
- Answer phones professionally, maintain cleanliness, and process payments accurately.
- Assist in closing duties, including storing goods, cleaning, securing the bar, and documenting transactions.
- Exhibit friendly and courteous behavior at all times.
- Complete all closing reports and secure the bank at shift end.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years experience in a luxury or ultra-luxury environment
