Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an EEG technologist to perform electroencephalograph and other neurodiagnostic exams under supervision. The role emphasizes accurate electrode placement, patient prep, and adherence to safety and quality standards within the department.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree (preferred), BLS certification, and 3+ years of related experience, with eligibility to take the National Registry exam.

  • Eligible to take National Registry exam.

  • Prepares patients for procedures and ensures accurate electrode sites for EEG tests.
  • Performs advanced neurodiagnostic exams and maintains equipment.
  • May schedule other techs and support the department manager as needed.

Job Summary Position is responsible for performing electroencephalograph (EEG) and other neurodiagnostic examinations according to physician’s orders under the supervision of the department manager. Job Description Minimum Qualifications Education: Associates degree, preferred Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support certification Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum three (3) years directly related experience and an Associates degree from an accredited Neurodiagnostics program; or five (5) years experience if no Associates degree Eligible to take the National Registry exam Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Principal Accountabilities
  • Receives and records physician’s orders for patient testing: schedules patients, obtains patient medical history and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Prepares patients for procedures: explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate.
  • Performs advanced neurodiagnostic exams depending on modality: maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments as indicated.
  • May be responsible for scheduling other techs, assisting the department manager as needed, and performing entry-level supervisory duties.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
