Job description

Serves as a Supervisory Store Associate in a commissary store at a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility. The primary purpose of this position is perform as a first line supervisor for Store Associates. Specific assignments vary by individual store and store management requirements.

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience planning, directing, or assigning work for employees; knowledge in multiple departments of within a grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction, and conduct on the job training for worker; carrying out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.

You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Physical requirements

(1) Prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or climbing (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance; heavier items are moved with assistance from other workers or by using weight-handling equipment. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
