About the Position

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position is assigned to the US Army Garrison, Directorate of Emergency Services, Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) Division. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes:

1. 1) Planning, coordinating, or directing security guard operations to protect personnel and government property;
2. 2) Supervising or leading security personnel, including assigning work, establishing priorities, or evaluating work performance;
3. 3) Enforcing physical security and access-control requirements and responding security incidents or emergencies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
