Job summary

DC Health, part of the District of Columbia Department of Health, seeks a Supervisory Public Health Analyst to oversee the Core Surveillance branch within the HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA). Job Summary

This position is in the Department of Health (DC Health), HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STD and TB Administration (HAHSTA), STD/TB Control Division. The mission of DC Health is to promote health, wellness, and equity across the District, and protect the safety of residents, visitors and those doing business in our nation's capital. This position serves as a Supervisory Public Health Analyst, with responsibility for overseeing the Core Surveillance branch which monitor, evaluate, disseminate and act to promote and protect public health. This encompasses developing and executing technology strategies aligned with the agencies objectives, HAHSTA, STD/TB Control Division monitors HIV, STD, hepatitis and TB cases diagnosed in the District of Columbia, analyzes and summarizes the reported data, and disseminates results and interpretation to a wide variety of stakeholders, including within the DC Department of Health, health care providers, and the general public. Essentially, the Incumbent is responsible for managing the division's case investigation activities for HIV, STDs, viral hepatitis and TB. Plans, implements, directs, and manages the division's receipt and investigation of case reports which supports the organizational success.

Duties & Responsibilities

Works collaboratively with Division staff and managers responsible for data management and epidemiologic analysis and studies, to ensure a robust surveillance system and the timely, complete, and accurate collection of data; to plan and implement epidemiologic studies; to increase testing, diagnosis, and linkage to care are fully implemented and aligned with local and federal requirements.

Supervising the Program and other direct service teams, ensuring integration and alignment across programs. Providing day-to-day leadership for staff embedded in clinical and community settings, with an emphasis on strengthening coordination between direct service interventions.

Qualifications and Education

Specialized Experience

At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-12 level, including program management, staff supervision, quality improvement, and partnership development in public health or healthcare settings

Licensure

Must posses a valid Driver's license

Working Conditions / Environment

The incumbent must be able to carry out official duties in a variety of settings and conditions. Routine work will occur primarily in an office setting.
