Pay Range

This range is provided by Defense Logistics Agency. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $50,318.00/yr - $72,712.00/yr

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise CYS direct care staff in Child Development Centers (ages 0-5) or Youth Programs, maintaining appropriate ratios.
  2. Prepare work schedules to meet staffing and group size requirements; oversee program accountability.
  3. Assist with recruitment, selection, and evaluation of caregiving staff; ensure timely personnel actions.
  4. Coordinate activities and events to meet the developmental needs of children and youth.
  5. Act as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time; provide management oversight during evening or weekend shifts.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid Social Security Card and be enrolled in Direct Deposit.
  • Meet physical, mental health, and background requirements, including immunizations per Army and DoD policy.
  • Satisfy all pre-employment checks, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation and the Crime Control Act.
  • May require a one-year probationary period and occasional travel or irregular hours.
Qualifications

Either:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree (or higher) with at least 24 semester hours in relevant fields such as child development, early childhood education, or related behavioral sciences.

Or:

  • A combination of education and experience, including coursework equivalent to a major in relevant fields plus appropriate work experience.

And:

  • Experience supervising or leading caregivers in child/youth programs.
  • Experience managing classroom settings and implementing structured curricula.
  • Strong verbal communication skills demonstrated through training, presentations, or meetings.
Additional Information

Education proof required at application; education must be directly related to the position. The application deadline has been extended to 05/19/2025. The area of consideration is within a 50-mile radius of New Cumberland, PA, including MSP and ISMP candidates.
