Summary
The incumbent provides clinical oversight over the facility's Family Practice/Primary Care ambulatory services through leadership, direction, and expertise. Also serves as a Physician, which involves performing related health and medical care services to patients.
Duties
- Provides direct supervision and clinical/technical oversight to primary care/family practice services.
- Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
- Mentors primary care medical staff and other care team members on developing effective customer care relationships with each other and with patients.
- Supervisory functions include planning, organizing, and developing primary care ambulatory medical services to ensure the highest quality of patient-centered medical care.

- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- This is a position covered by Public Law 101-630, involving contact or control over Indian children; the agency must ensure candidates have not been found guilty of certain crimes.
- A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.
- The individual must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including licensure requirements.
- On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
- Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Set up direct deposit for salary payments.
- Pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation required; continued employment contingent on clearance.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the role.
Basic Requirements
- Degree: MD, DO, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian school.
- Foreign Medical School: Must demonstrate education and medical knowledge equivalent to U.S. standards.
- Licensure: Current, active, unrestricted license as a Physician.
- Graduate Training: At least 1 year of supervised clinical experience post-degree, such as internship or residency.
Additional Requirements for GS-15
- 5 years of graduate training or equivalent experience in the specialty.
- Board Certification or equivalent (residency diploma/certificate).
