Job summary

Harris Health in Houston seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications for patients and clinics within our safety-net system. Under direct supervision, you will handle dosage preparation, unit dose packaging, sterile compounding, inventory management, and patient information verification, while performing essential clerical duties with precision.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED and Texas Pharmacy Board registration as a Pharmacy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Registered by and in good standing with Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician; or licensed as Pharmacist Intern.
• IV Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dosage medications for dispensing into bottles/containers.
• Unit dose packaging/repackaging and counting pills/tablets.
• Mix medications that need to be reconstituted with water.
• Prepare oral syringes and sterile compounded preparations.
• Fill and replenish automated dispensing cabinets; manage inventory.
• Deliver medications to patient care units and verify patient information.
• Answer phones, stock shelves, cash handling and data entry with accuracy.
