Job summary

CAC I International Inc. seeks a Supervisory Paralegal in Washington, DC to lead litigation support for high‑visibility DOJ matters. You will manage paralegal staff, coordinate with COR and trial teams, and oversee document review using Relativity, Casemap, Oncue, and other platforms.

The role requires 3+ years of litigation experience, supervisory and leadership skills, and strong research and communication abilities. This is a full‑time position offering growth, training, and robust benefits.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate or JD or ABA‑accredited law school study or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including trial work.
  • 1+ years in automated litigation support and eDiscovery platforms.
  • Supervisory experience and strong client/attorney interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state court procedures and research tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; proficient in document review tools.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure paralegal work meets contract and attorney requirements and is delivered on time.
  • Interact with DOJ COR, case managers, trial attorneys, and client staff.
  • Troubleshoot and perform quality control spot checks.
  • Formulate administrative and technical procedures for workflow.
  • Report to Project Supervisor or Project Manager and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Perform complex legal and factual research.
  • Design systems for tracking case files, exhibits, and materials.
  • Utilize eDiscovery tools such as Relativity, Casemap, and Oncue for investigations.
  • Assist trial staff with coordinating with expert witnesses and consultants.
  • Arrange access to DOJ libraries and legal research facilities.
  • Coordinate with data processing and other contractor support teams.

The Opportunity

The Supervisory Paralegal position is a great opportunity for paralegals looking to develop their management skills in support of high visibility cases for the Department of Justice. You will gain invaluable litigation experience as a case may go through all or some of the phases of the EDRM spectrum, from intake/acquisition of documents and data through trial support, cases and investigations. Responsibilities
  • Ensure that paralegal and support staff work meets contract and attorney requirements and is delivered on time.
  • Frequently interact with DOJ Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Case Managers, trial attorneys, client agency staff, etc., as well as with other Contractor components.
  • Troubleshoot and performs quality control spot‑checks.
  • Formulate administrative and technical procedures for getting the work done.
  • Report to Project Supervisor or Project Manager; may also have significant contact with COR, Government Case Manager, trial attorneys and staff, client agency staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Perform complex legal and factual research.
  • Design and develops systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case‑specific materials.
  • Utilize electronic and evidence management and discovery production processes and tools, such as Relativity, Casemap and Oncue, to support investigations.
  • Assist trial staff in coordination with expert witnesses and litigation consultants.
  • Arrange for access to appropriate DOJ libraries and other legal research facilities.
  • Coordinate with other Contractor support components, including data processing support staff, in order to accomplish work.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including trial experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in automated litigation support.
  • Supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.
  • Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure, in a deadline driven, fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer‑focused, congenial, professional, can do attitude for working with staff and government clients.
  • Demonstrated experience working in eDiscovery document review platforms such as Relativity, Clearwell, iCONECT, Casepoint, Everlaw, Casemap, Oncue, etc.
Desired

Certification(s) in Relativity, ACEDS, and other eDiscovery related technical certifications.
