Job description

This position is located at the Unaccompanied Housing (UH) Program at NAS Pensacola, consisting of 2000+ beds. The purpose of this position is to analyze and interpret operations data to assist the Unaccompanied Housing Manager in properly managing resources for the installation Unaccompanied Housing Program, meeting operating goals and ensuring adequate and timely services to residents.

The incumbent is responsible for operational support and guidance, ensuring a professional facility, consistent with those services and amenities as directed by higher authority. The goal is to provide clean, comfortable accommodations for residents at the lowest possible cost while contributing to the morale of service members assigned to the installation.

Duties include studying or reviewing space distribution to develop work management criteria, evaluating the validity and practicability of work methods and standards, and evaluating the impact of higher headquarters requirements on program operations, financial stability, and/or structures. The incumbent also develops data to support the most efficient organization, prepares preliminary reports recommending more economical and efficient alternatives, briefs the Unaccompanied Housing Manager of results, and finalizes reports.

In the absence of the Unaccompanied Housing Manager, the incumbent approves requisitions for equipment, supplies, and amenities. The incumbent participates in management surveys that typically encompass major segments of the Unaccompanied Housing operation and applies various techniques in analyzing and processing financial and organizational trends, work methods, Unaccompanied Housing program evaluation, and record management.

The incumbent performs internal management control vulnerability studies and reviews to develop controls to prevent losses and implement cost-saving measures. Supervision responsibilities include assigning work, establishing and revising priorities, evaluating performance, approving or disapproving leave requests, selecting management/supervisory candidates, and setting hiring boards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs the full range of supervisory duties for one or more subordinates, including Front Office Manager, Front Desk Supervisor, Custodial Supervisor, Complex Manager, Purchasing Agent, Administrative Assistant, and Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Coordinates and maintains a professional employee training and development program.
  • Manages an employee recognition program for all categories of employees on the Unaccompanied Housing staff.
  • Ensures subordinates are fully aware of and comply with appropriate personnel, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check.
  • Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have salary sent to a financial institution of choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • This position has oversight for a 24-hour operation, and the incumbent must be available and accessible at various hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary to meet mission requirements.
  • Incumbent may be considered ‘ALPHA’ personnel and therefore subject to work during inclement weather or other states of emergency.
