Summary

The Nebraska Western Iowa (NWI) VA Healthcare System is recruiting for a Supervisory Dental Hygienist. The supervisory dental hygienist is responsible for the supervision, administrative management, and direction of dental auxiliary staff.

Qualifications

Dental Hygienist

Basic Requirements:

• Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
• English Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Education: Must possess an Associate degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program, preferably CODA-accredited.
• Licensure: Must be currently licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in the U.S.
• Certification: Must meet radiologic procedures credentialing standards and be certified as a radiographer.

Duties

• Prepares work assignments and monitors clinical performance of dental auxiliary staff.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and maintains quality management programs.
• Develops policies, manages documentation, and oversees professional and administrative management of dental auxiliary staff.
• Provides direct patient care, including assessments, disease management, radiographs, and patient education.
• Work Schedule: 7:30-4:00 Monday-Friday. Telework not available. This is not a virtual position.
