This position is considered an Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Accordingly, the position's occupant must be certified with the appropriate DAWIA certification based on mission requirements for the position. If the selectee does not currently possess the required DAWIA certification upon entry into the position, selectee will be given 36 months to achieve certification. This position requires DAWIA Contracting Professional Certification.

This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) which requires the following position requirements prior to selectee assignment: 1. DAWIA Contracting Professional Certification or equivalent certification, 2. 4 years of acquisition experience, 3. must execute 3-year tenure agreement. The selectee must meet DAWIA and acquisition experience requirements at the time of assignment unless a waiver is granted by DIA’s Senior Acquisition Executive.
