Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) seeks an Assistant IG for Audits, Inspections & Evaluations. The role requires independent data analysis, reporting to management and senior leaders, and stakeholder engagement to promote analytical innovation.
The incumbent will supervise audit teams, coordinate complex audits, ensure adherence to auditing standards, and present findings with clear recommendations to resolve issues and improve processes.
The Assistant IG for Audits, Inspections & Evaluations under the Office of Inspector General (OIG), is responsible for a variety of complex analysis actions and initiatives. Incumbent will be required to independently analyze data, data sources, provide reports to management and senior leaders, engage a wide range of audiences, build relationships with stakeholders, promote technical innovation, provide support to emergent requirements, and assist with developing & enhancing analyzation methods.
Qualifications: This position has a Basic Requirement for the 0511: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. *NOTE: Failure to provide transcripts will result in you being rated ineligible for this position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Leading and/or supervising, planning, and organizing audits and providing direction and technical/professional guidance to audit teams. Coordinating, directing, and evaluating the work of a team of auditors. Ensuring program operates in compliance with established auditing standards, such as Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Conducting presentations, participating in working groups dealing with audit matters, serving on process action teams or process improvement groups. Conducting meetings with all levels of staff regarding exit conferences to present audit conclusions, defend results, justify recommendations, answer questions on audit methodologies, and resolve differences. Interpreting policies and procedures developed in response to inquiries and personal liaison with external audit agencies.
